Marine transport contractor Boskalis last week said the unit, which weighs in at nearly 70,000 tonnes, was floated onto its semi-submersible heavy-transport vessel Boka Vanguard.
The Boka Vanguard then moved with her cargo to the quayside at Samsung for fastening in readiness for the voyage to the US Gulf.
The platform will have the capacity to produce up to 140,000 barrels per day of oil through a subsea production system from up to 14 production wells and eight water injection wells.
BP selected the ULVAShield system for CUI prevention and Samsung, with strong site services support from ULVA, has delivered a quality application.
